I’m glad this came up in my feed! I’ve been in London for two and a bit years, but I don’t really get homesick as you describe. When I do realise there’s something I miss, I think: but how often did I *actually* do that when I was living in the Brisbane suburbs. The answer is always: not often enough to warrant this feeling.
